Why evidence beats opinions
Every long argument in an operations business is a missing measurement.
In most organisations the loudest disagreements are about facts nobody recorded. Was the pallet damaged on arrival? Did the batch fail before or after potting? Was the packaging always this heavy?
These arguments are expensive because they are unresolvable. They consume senior time and end in whoever is more senior being right.
The cheapest intervention is almost never a dashboard. It is deciding what evidence gets captured at the moment of the event, by the person already standing there, in under ten seconds.
Once that exists, the arguments end and the improvements start. This is why our projects tend to begin with a capture protocol rather than a model.
