Question #260

Can buildings explain how they use energy?

Legal

Privacy Policy

What we collect, why, and how to get rid of it. Written to be read, not to be skipped.

Who we are

Quinn Labs is a research and product lab based in the United Kingdom. This page explains what personal data this website collects, why, and what you can do about it.

If you have any question about your data, email hello@quinnlabs.co and a person will answer it.

What we collect

Enquiry details. When you use the contact form or the Work with Quinn Labs form, we collect the name, email address, organisation and message you choose to give us.

Technical data. Our hosting provider records standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) to keep the site running and secure.

We do not collect special category data, we do not buy personal data, and we do not ask for anything we do not need to reply to you.

Why we use it

To reply to your enquiry and, if it goes further, to scope and deliver the work.

To keep a record of the conversation so we do not ask you the same question twice.

To keep the website secure and diagnose faults.

Our lawful basis is legitimate interest (responding to an enquiry you initiated) and, where a project follows, performance of a contract.

Marketing

We do not run a marketing list, we do not send newsletters you did not ask for, and we do not sell, rent or share your details with third parties for their own marketing.

Who can see it

Enquiries are read by the person who would do the work. They are stored in our database and email systems, which are operated by reputable infrastructure providers acting as our processors.

We disclose personal data to no one else unless we are legally required to.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become projects are deleted within 24 months. Project records are kept for as long as we have a business relationship and for six years afterwards where accounting or contractual rules require it.

Server logs are retained for a short period by our hosting provider.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it.

Email hello@quinnlabs.co and we will action it within one month. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
